~Artist Statement~

The Unveiling of Pure Light 
My art is a dedicated practice in translating peace, hope, and the quiet joy of authenticity onto a canvas. Working primarily in oil painting, mixed media, and the intense, singular focus of pyrography, I seek to create a sanctuary where the viewer can find a moment of upliftment and pure feeling.
Every piece is a celebration of the fundamental goodness found in the world—a quiet reflection. I am particularly drawn to painting animals, natural landscapes, and the strength of the feminine form, seeing in them a raw, untainted beauty.
The recurring element of gold leaf is no accident; it represents the divine spark, the treasure of our true, unburdened selves. My work is not merely about representation, but about conveying the spirit of overcoming and freedom, reminding us that paradise is always within reach. My final intention is simple: to offer a window to hope and to affirm the light you already carry.

Theresa Power is a seasoned mixed-media artist whose career is built on a lifelong commitment to creation and an unwavering belief in the power of authenticity and hope.

Based in Sedona, Arizona since 2002, her distinctive style blends the luminous quality of oil painting with the raw, earthy textures of pyrography (wood burning), sheer fabrics and mixed media. Theresa’s work is immediately recognizable for her use of gold leaf, a signature element that transforms nature, animal, and feminine subjects into timeless symbols of peace and inner freedom.

An artist by nature and practice since childhood, her art embodies the spirit of the Innocent archetype: optimistic, uplifting, and devoted to showing the beauty of the unburdened self. Her pieces serve as gentle affirmations, guiding the viewer toward a sense of peace and a recognition of their own capacity for joy and overcoming. She shares a vision of the world where hope is a tangible, visible force.
